Title: Unsaponifiables from avocado and soy: A Wide Range of Possibilities to Be Explored
Abstract: Vegetable extracts created from the fruits and seeds of avocado and soybean oil are known as avocado and soybean unsaponifiables (ASU). This ASU mixture is advised to act as an adjuvant treatment for osteoarthritic pain and slow-acting symptomatic treatment of hip and knee osteoarthritis, autoimmune diseases, diffuse scleroderma, and scleroderma-like states. It is characterized by its potent anti-inflammatory effects (e.g., morphea, sclerodactyly, scleroderma in bands). Additionally, it has been suggested that by easing menopause-related symptoms, it can enhance postmenopausal women’s mood and quality of life. In this article, studies on the biological effects of the avocado-soybean unsaponifiable, its chemical makeup, pharmacotherapy, and potential uses in autoimmune, osteoarticular, and menopausal disorders are summarized. Finally, we’ll talk about its regulatory, toxicological, and safety practices.
