Title: The Single Ionization of Multielectronic Atoms by Bare Ion Impact: A Complete CDW Theory
Abstract: The single ionization of multielectronic atoms by fast bare heavy ion beams is investigated using a complete form of the post version of the continuum distorted wave (CDW) theory. Through a residual target potential regarded as a non-Coulomb central potential through a GSZ parametric one, the impact of the non-ionized electrons on the dynamic evolution is taken into account. By exclusively taking into account an eikonal phase rather than the continuum factor as the initial channel distortion function in that term, divergences found in the transition amplitude containing the short-range part of the target potential are avoided. By doing this, we are able to include the interaction between the residual target and the target active electron, creating a more comprehensive theory. Comparisons with current experimental electron emission spectra and other distorted wave theories provide support for the current analysis.
