Description
Title: The Impact of MicroRNAs in Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Abstract: The second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide is hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). HCC is discovered when it has advanced to the point where few effective treatments are available. It has been reported that HCC exhibits significant morphologic, genetic, and epigenetic heterogeneity, which makes the development of a targeted therapy difficult. With a focus on their potential role as a diagnostic and prognostic tool in the risk prediction, early detection, and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, we discuss the role and involvement of several microRNAs (miRs) in the heterogeneity and metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma in this review.
Keywords: hepatocellular carcinoma; microRNA; metastasis; heterogeneity; therapeutics
