Title: The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility on Firm Performance: The Role of Green Innovation
Abstract: The government of Indonesia encourages medium-sized and large businesses to implement CSR initiatives. These initiatives support the company’s sustainability because they can foster better community relations, economic development, and environmental awareness. This study tested the impact of CSR on firm performance using green innovation as a mediator. This study used 253 PROPER companies from the years 2015 to 2019 that were selected using a purposive sampling technique involving annual reports and financial reports. STATA was used to test the data that were obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange. According to this study, corporate social responsibility can boost green innovation in businesses by stabilizing environmentally friendly materials, reducing emissions for the community, and reducing energy consumption. Due to the company’s commitment to process continuity, corporate social responsibility has a positive impact on firm performance. After all, it coexists peacefully with the neighborhood. Green innovation also helps businesses perform better because they can use less energy and more environmentally friendly resources. Green innovation can therefore act as a buffer between corporate social responsibility and business performance. By paying attention to the environment and putting regulations into practice, this research helps senior managers who are a part of their company’s top management to understand the crucial role of corporate social responsibility in maintaining the company’s sustainability. Corporate social responsibility can improve green innovation and business performance while preserving positive stakeholder relations. Research on the context of sustainable performance can benefit from theoretical contributions.
