Title: Technology for Certificate-less Digital Signatures for E-Government Solutions
Abstract: Although digital signatures are a necessity for the implementation of e-governance solutions in any organization, their use in India’s extensive use of government ICT is minimal. The authors conducted a thorough analysis of a well-known e-governance initiative in India in order to comprehend the causes of the low level of technology acceptance. The study’s findings showed that the reasons are connected to difficulties with using cryptographic devices carrying private keys and the challenging procedure for creating, keeping, and discarding digital signature certificates (DSCs). A certificate-less technology, where private keys are generated as and when needed instead of being stored on cryptographic devices, was required for a solution to the problems revealed by the case study. Although there are many solutions that offer certificate-less technology, there haven’t been any real-world implementations of the solution that use biometrics yet. The RSA algorithm is used in this paper to implement the first practical identity-based cryptography with biometrics architecture. The suggested solution can offer users a certificate-free digital signature technology where the public and private keys are generated instantly.
