Description

Title: Research in the Age of COVID-19 and Beyond: Factors Affecting Vietnamese Youth’s Intention to Use Financial Technology

Abstract: In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the goal of this study is to better understand the variables that influence young Vietnamese people’s intentions to use financial technology. In developed nations, there are many fintech studies that primarily concentrate on the circumstances, knowledge, routines, and capital of consumers. These are anticipated to be very different from the circumstances in developing nations. In this study, the Perceived Benefit (PB), Perceived Risk (PR), Belief (B), and Social Influence (SI) factors were examined. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) model were also used. 161 Z-generation consumers with high levels of flexibility and fintech usage knowledge make up the survey sample. To assess the research model, we employ the PLS-SEM (partial least squares structural equation modeling) analysis method with the SmartPLS software (SmartPLS GmbH, Oststeinbek, Germany). We discover that Perceived Benefit (PB), followed by Belief, has the greatest influence on the intention to use Fintech (B). However, generally speaking, the factors are not important, perhaps for a variety of inherent Vietnamese reasons. Service providers, decision-makers, and researchers can calibrate the development and research for the subsequent stages based on this result. We present findings that differ from those of earlier studies, thereby expanding the body of knowledge specifically about young people.
