Title: Recovery Measures for the Andalusia Tourism Industry: Locals as Tourist Customers
Abstract: The coronavirus-caused pandemic is still pushing international boundaries. In this sense, the crisis has had the greatest impact on the tourism sector, which has suffered losses of more than 900 million euros. Recovery will demand a lot of work, particularly in nations where the sector makes up a sizable portion of the economy and employment. The opinions and suggestions of the citizens of the autonomous community of Andalusia are examined in this study. During the closure, 658 surveys in total were completed. Using the SPSS and NVivo Pro software, a thematic analysis, both quantitative and qualitative, was conducted. The results offer important new understandings into how society recovered economically from the pandemic. The Andalusian people have chosen to promote local tourism in order to encourage locals to buy goods produced there. The introduction of new technologies and marketing initiatives ought to offer the fundamental plans for innovations and structural changes. Residents call for a united Europe and reject some political leaders’ assertions. The findings have implications for tourist destinations both practically and theoretically.
