Title: Rates of Transitions from 3s3p2 4P to 3s3p4s 4P in Al I
Abstract: Two multiplets in Al I, 3s3p2 4P and 3s3p4s 4Po, have undergone fully relativistic calculations. The GRASP programs were used to obtain wave functions for each level of these multiplets. The E1 transition rates for each level change in these multiplets are reported. The values of observed values and other theories are compared to transition energies and transition rates. Our calculated transition rates are about 10% lower than observed rates, which helps to narrow a significant gap between earlier calculations and experiments.
