Description
Title: Quality vs. quantity, number 88 Beloved: Tony Morrison’s Concern for Historical Consciousness
Abstract: With an emphasis on her book Beloved, this essay explores Toni Morrison’s concern for the history of slavery and its impact on the race that has been victimized by it. First, the significance of historical knowledge is emphasized. Next, the researcher examined the relationship between history and literature to illustrate this, based mostly on the idea that history serves as a meeting place for the real and imaginary worlds. To show how the portrayal of slave women in these narratives led to the establishment of a negative image of slave women in literature and real life, the second purpose is to analyze slave stories as both historical documents and fictional works. This will be done by examining slave stories as historical documents and fictional works. All of these concepts demonstrate Morrison’s capacity to reawaken the voice of the African-American woman in her literature as well as in her everyday life.
