Title: Proposed definition and treatment for progressive fibrosis in interstitial lung diseases.
Abstract: The progression of fibrosis, which results in an ever-increasing impairment of lung function and a poor prognosis, is one of the symptoms of interstitial lung diseases. If an antifibrotic treatment is found to be effective, patients may be able to slow the disease’s progression and possibly even live longer. In order to improve patient management in this population of patients, it is necessary to standardize the diagnosis and definition of progressive fibrosis interstitial lung disease.
