Title: Porous Carbon Nitride Nanobelts for Effective Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Synthesis

Abstract: Solar energy conversion of CO2 to fuels is a highly desirable fuel production method. The creation of porous graphitic carbon nitride nanobelt catalyst (PN-g-C3N4) and its capacity for photocatalytic CO2 reduction are the main topics of this study. From 6.5 m2g1 (graphitic carbon nitride, g-C3N4) to 32.94 m2g1, the surface area increased (PN-g-C3N4). On the surface, CN groups and empty N2C were introduced. Under visible light and artificial sunlight illumination, PN-g-C3N4 had absorbabilities of visible light that were 5.7 and 6.3 times higher and excellent photocatalytic activity, respectively, than g-C3N4. The porous nanobelt structure, improved visible light absorption, and surface vacant N-sites could all be contributing factors to the increased photocatalytic activity. It is anticipated that PN-g-C3N4 will be a strong CO2 photocatalytic conversion candidate.
