Description
Title: Overview of the literature on Hattori’s cyst, a posterior medial paravertebral Müllerian cyst
Abstract: Mediastinal cysts can be oesophageal duplication-related but are typically bronchogenic, thymic, or neurenteric in origin. Unknown pathogenesis posterior paravertebral mediastinal Müllerian cysts are extremely uncommon. Hattori reported the first case of a mediastinum-based ciliated cyst of likely Müllerian origin in 2005, giving rise to the term “Hatorri cyst” (COH) Since then, there have been significantly more similar cases reported in the literature. The potential for Müllerian tissue to develop cancer is one of the main worries associated with this pathology. This essay will cover the pathogenesis, immunohistochemistry’s function in differential diagnosis, and the best ways to treat these cysts.
