Title: Opieka paliatywna in severe choroidal obturation pain (POChP) Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease palliative care
Abstract: Palliative care services have recently made an effort to include patients with other chronic, life-threatening diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, despite historically focusing on terminally ill cancer patients (COPD). Both the quality of life and the life expectancy are low in this group of patients. Unfortunately, despite the fact that COPD is a progressive condition that kills almost as many people as lung cancer, patients do not receive adequate special medical care. Patients dying of COPD endure similar suffering to those who die of cancer. Usually, dyspnea, coughing, exhaustion, depression, emotional issues, and psychosocial issues are the main symptoms. Since their requirements are actually palliative, we make an effort to focus on the COPD patients’ quality of life. It is critical to emphasize that providing medical palliation for these patients entails more than just managing their primary clinical symptoms. It also requires using a multidisciplinary, holistic approach and collaborating with the patients’ families and caregivers.
