Title: Neutrophils in the Microenvironment of Pancreatic Tumors
Abstract: The malignancy known as pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a poor prognosis and low survival rates. PDAC is distinguished by an aggressive tumor microenvironment that is fibroinflammatory and rich in fibroblasts and various immune cells. Immune cells that infiltrate the PDAC microenvironment are crucial and include neutrophils. Numerous cellular mechanisms by which neutrophils are drawn to tumor lesions and aid in tumorigenesis have been discovered in recent studies. The interaction between neutrophils, tumor cells, and other elements in the PDAC tumor microenvironment is summarized in this review. Also discussed are the prognosis and therapeutic implications of neutrophils in PDAC.
