Description
Title: Nanotechnology and Nosocomial Infections
Abstract: Nosocomial infections, also known as hospital-acquired infections (HAIs), are contracted in a medical facility or hospital. Bacteria, including Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli, Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and many others, are the main cause of HAI. Nanotechnology has paved the way for more effective and sensitive ways to detect and treat bacterial infections because of the rising antibacterial resistance. Nanoparticles bactericidal activities, drug delivery, anti-fouling coatings, and other activities, among others, have been detected using molecular beacons. This review discusses the growing danger of nosocomial infections with a focus on the situation in India and the significant efforts made by hospitals and medical organizations to raise awareness and provide training. This review also focuses on how nanotechnology might be used to stop the spread of these infections.
