Description
Title: Magnesium Distributions in Gallstones Based on Optical Emission Spectroscopy
Abstract: In this study, laser-induced optical emission spectroscopy measurements of the elemental compositions of calcified gallstones are reported. The findings of the experiment confirm the significance of magnesium concentration in gallstone development. Granular stones show a higher magnesium concentration at the granules’ edges, which may indicate that further growth is being repressed. Lower overall magnesium concentrations, but higher values close to the center, are seen in non-granular gallstones.
