Title: Lung cancer and endocrine paraneoplastic syndromes: a respiratory doctor’s perspective
Abstract: One of the main factors contributing to cancer-related mortality is lung cancer. Lung cancer patients frequently develop endocrine paraneoplastic syndromes. These result from the secretion of various substances rather than from metastasis or direct invasion of the tumor. The prognosis of lung cancer has also been linked to these syndromes. This review discusses the prevalence, biology, clinical characteristics, diagnosis, and treatment of the various endocrine paraneoplastic syndromes associated with lung cancer.
