Title: Indium’s Third Spectrum: In III
Abstract: The current study presents findings from an extensive examination of indium’s third spectrum (In III). Despite the fact that this spectrum has already been the subject of numerous analyses, this study significantly expands on them. The observation of transitions involving core-excited configurations is the primary new contribution. Data from the past are carefully analyzed and, in some cases, corrected. Using a triggered spark source, the spectra were captured on 3-m and 10.7-m normal incidence spectrographs. The Cowan’s code was used to perform theoretical computations. As a result of the analysis, 24 new energy levels and 70 spectral lines are identified. The manuscript also compiles all of the information on In III that is currently available.
