Title: In the field of farmacotherapy for severe obturatory pulmonary disease, the symptomatology depends on the histonome
Abstract: In the world, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) ranks as the fourth leading cause of morbidity and mortality. The main causes of COPD are thought to be cigarette smoking and oxidative/nitrosative stress that results in chronic inflammation, but the exact molecular pathways that cause the disease’s onset are still unknown. Recent studies show that altered histone function contributes to the development of disease by increasing gene transcription and promoting the production of inflammatory cytokines. Drug-induced changes in the intensity of core histone acetylation/deacetylation may be an interesting area for further study. In this article, opinions regarding the function of steroids as anti-inflammatory agents and steroid resistance have been presented. Findings from studies investigating theophylline’s and N-anti-inflammatory acetylcysteine’s properties as well as their capacity to reduce oxidative stress may point to the usefulness of these medications in the causative management of COPD. However, additional research is required to validate these results.
