Title: How Does Green Growth Get Started With Foreign Direct Investment? The Energy Transition’s Mediating and Moderating Role
Abstract: The resources and technologies exist in developed nations to fight pollution, even at the expense of economic expansion. The situation is worse for developing nations. Developed nations may use foreign direct investment (FDI) as a tool to transfer polluting industries, which raises pollution in the host nations. However, since FDI may lessen pollution by consuming less energy, the impact of pollution may also be affected. This study investigates the role of FDI in achieving Green Growth through energy transition, as well as the mediating role of energy consumption on the impact of FDI on pollution. The main conclusions show that energy consumption has an impact on pollution as a result of FDI, and that energy transition is crucial in minimizing this mediating effect. It appears that non-renewable energy is used in developing nations to meet their energy needs. FDI propels green growth in both groups of nations. However, more work is needed to achieve green rowth through the energy transition in developing nations.
