Title: HeH+ Rotational Excitation by Electron Impact: Cross Sections and Rate Coefficients
Abstract: Theoretically, the cross sections for rotational excitation and de-excitation of the HeH+ ion by an electron impact are calculated using a method that combines the multi-channel quantum defect theory and the UK R-matrix code. The obtained cross sections’ thermally averaged rate coefficients are fitted to an analytical formula that holds true across a wide temperature range.
Keywords: helium hydride ion; rotational excitation; R-matrix; quantum-defect theory
