Title: Financial Inclusion in the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era in Africa, Digital Financial Inclusion, and Digital Financial Services Tax

Abstract: Globally, the digital economy has grown significantly, and many developing nations, including African nations, have seen a rise in digital activity in recent years. Digital financial services (DFS) have increased in Africa and other developing regions as a result of the expansion of the digital economy. Taxing the digital economy has emerged as a viable option because many African nations are under pressure to increase domestic revenue. Thus, this study made an effort to address the following queries: first, what relationship exists between DFS growth and digital inclusion in African nations? Second, why should DFS taxes be imposed in Africa? Third, what possible effects might DFS taxes have on African nations? The study found that digital financial inclusion is the primary driver of financial inclusion on the African continent using secondary data from the literature review and document analysis, a methodical approach for assessing or evaluating printed and electronic documents, as well as computer-based and internet-transmitted material. The study also discovered that, despite a number of unfavorable effects linked to the expansion of the digital economy, the majority of economic activities in Africa are informal and supported by various digital financial services. In order to avoid excluding low-income individuals from the financial sector and to account for the usage, affordability, and distortionary implications of taxation, it is crucial that care be taken when adopting digital finance taxes.
