Title: Examining the Relationships between Board Meetings and Financial Performance in Publicly Listed Companies
Abstract: The importance of the board of directors to an organization’s ability to gain investor confidence and enhance financial performance is unquestionable. This study aims to investigate the interactions between board meetings and the relationship between environmental and social (ES) information disclosure and firm performance in publicly traded Malaysian companies from 2013 to 2017. The agency theory’s theoretical underpinnings as they apply to the corporate governance function are strengthened by this article. To understand the innate connections between the board of directors and firm performance, we use the agency theory framework. The study’s findings suggest that board meetings may have a big impact on a company’s relationship between ES and financial performance, as determined by Tobin Q and return on equity.
