Title: Evaluation of Wastewater Treatment Systems’ Sustainability in Developing Nations
Abstract: There are many different methods for assessing the economic, environmental, institutional, and social sustainability of wastewater treatment systems because there are many potential goals and target audiences. The planners of wastewater treatment systems may find this paper’s survey of some aspects of sustainability assessment useful. Specifically, the system’s affordability for users, environmental impact, benefits for health and hygiene, cultural acceptance of the system and its recycled products, technical functionality, and the administrative, political, and legal framework for its development and operation are assessed as key criteria. The best system for a particular location can then be determined by analyzing potential trade-offs using a multi-criteria approach.
