In light of this, the goal of this study is to investigate the factors that contribute to the sustainable growth of SMEs in developing nations. specially in Ethiopia. Both descriptive and explanatory research designs were used to achieve the study’s goals. Additionally, SMEs involved in service, manufacturing, trade, construction, and urban agriculture provided primary data. The sampling methods employed in this 194 employees of SMEs were chosen as a sample size for this study using the stratified simple random sampling technique. In addition, the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23 software was used to analyze the data along with multiple linear regression models. The results of the study show that significant problems like the coronavirus and political instability in Ethiopia, which have enabled widespread corruption, are currently hurting the development of SMEs. The findings show that COVID-19, political unrest, and corruption are now having a significant mpact on Ethiopian SMEs’ growth. The long-term viability of Ethiopian SMEs is severely impacted by these worries. In order to ensure effective corruption control in the region and bring political stability to the region, particularly in Ambo town, Ethiopia, the study strongly advocates for sequential policy reform in the region as well as a review of current policies.
