Title: Energy Levels and Spectrum of Four-Times Ionized Yttrium (Y V)
Abstract: A significant number of new spectrum lines and energy levels were discovered through the extension of the analysis of the Y V, four-times-ionized yttrium, spectrum. The new analysis is based on spectrograms obtained using grazing- and normal-incidence spectrographs at a height of 10.7 m and sliding-spark discharges. The measurements range from 184 to 2549. The findings update levels for this spectrum by Ateqad et al. and Zahid-Ali et al. (1975). (1984). 570 lines were identified as transitions between levels with 23 odd-parity and 90 even-parity. The configurations for the 4s24p5, 4s4p6, 4s24p44d, 5s, 5p, 5d, and 6s are now finished. The 4s24p46d and 7s configurations’ results are speculative. With uncertainties as low as 0.0004, Ritz-type wavelengths were identified from the optimized energy levels. Hartree-Fock calculations and least-squares fits of the energy parameters to the observed levels were used to interpret the observed configurations. With the fitted parameters, oscillator strengths for all classified lines were calculated. The outcomes are contrasted with level energies, composition percentages, and transition probabilities calculated recently using ab initio theoretical calculations. It was updated to 607,760 300 cm1 (75.353 0.037 eV) for the ionization energy.
