Title: Emerging Concern with Immediate Therapeutic Approaches to Treat Biofilm Resistance
Abstract: Bacteria are thought to produce biofilms as a means of surviving in their natural environments. Numerous factors are known to have an impact on the production of biofilms. The various elements that directly affect the development of biofilm have all been thoroughly discussed in this paper. Human health is seriously impacted by biofilm, and a number of infections linked to it have emerged, rapidly escalating the threat of antimicrobial resistance on a global scale. Additionally, a number of strategies have been developed to deal with biofilm resistance. Recent developments have made it possible to find drugs to treat various biofilm-associated infections, including surface modifications, physical removal, and the use of nanoparticles. Numerous biofilm-fighting tactics have been developed as a result of advancements in nanoparticle production. In this review, we concentrate on therapeutic options that are available now and in the future that target crucial structural and functional aspects of microbial biofilms as well as drug tolerance mechanisms, like the extracellular matrix.
