Title: Drug delivery systems with biosensor integration as new materials for biomedical applications
Abstract: Innovative medical devices that enable continuous monitoring and drug administration are biosensor-integrated drug delivery systems. It has been extensively researched how to use smart polymer, bioMEMS, and electrochemical sensors for these systems, particularly for chronic illnesses like diabetes mellitus, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases as well as developments in regenerative medicine. Basically, the technology uses sensors that continuously analyze biological molecules and release drugs in response to predetermined signals. High sensitivity and quick drug release are two benefits. The main developments of biosensor-integrated drug delivery systems as new biomedical materials to enhance the quality of life for patients with chronic diseases are discussed in this work.
