Description
Title: DISTRIBUTED System Dynamics Analysis Using Erlang Performance Lab
Abstract: Large-scale, highly concurrent systems today require new techniques for design, testing, and monitoring. Their scale and dynamics necessitate real-time tools that offer a comprehensive view of the entire system and the flexibility to display a more detailed view as necessary. These tools make it easier to pinpoint the root causes of undesirable states than is typically possible with static analysis or metrics-based approaches. This paper introduces a novel Erlang tool for the analysis of distributed systems. It offers the ability to track system dynamics in real time at various levels of abstraction. A large-scale urban traffic simulation system that is being run on a cluster of 20 computing nodes has been examined using the tool.
