Title: Dec1 and Dec2’s Potential Functions in Periodontal Inflammation
Abstract: Chronic inflammation linked to the common inflammatory disease known as periodontal disease can eventually result in bone loss and loss of alveolar attachment. Understanding pyroptosis and autophagy has suggested the importance of these processes in inflammation. Recent research on the genes 1 and 2 (Dec1 and Dec2) expressed in differentiated embryo-chondrocytes has revealed that these genes are crucial for autophagy and pyroptosis, two processes that help to trigger periodontal inflammation. In this review, we present an overview of recent research on the functions of clock genes, such as Dec1 and Dec2, in periodontal inflammation and other diseases.
Keywords: Dec1; Dec2; periodontal inflammation; autophagy; pyroptosis
