Title: Creation of a Picosecond Pulsed Electron Gun-Based Electron-Atom Compton Scattering Device
Abstract: For electron-atom Compton scattering experiments, a device has been created that can use a pump-and-probe setup with a pulsed laser and a picosecond pulsed electron beam. The apparatus’s technical specifications and design are described. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the pulsed electron gun and the detection and spectrometric capabilities for scattered electrons, experimental results on the Xe atom in its ground state are also presented. The potential for future applications is also covered, including the real-time measurement of intramolecular forces acting on various constituent atoms during a molecular reaction in a transient, evolving system.
