Title: Collision Strengths and Effective Collision Strengths for Permitted Transitions between Atomic Hydrogen’s n 5 Degenerate Levels
Abstract: The close-coupling (CC) and Born approximations have been used in our calculations of collision strengths and effective collision strengths for 26 allowed transitions among the n 5 degenerate levels of atomic hydrogen. Results are provided for many energies (up to 100 Ryd) and temperatures (up to 107 K), which are adequate for applications over a variety of plasmas, including fusion. Deuterium has also been calculated to produce similar results, but they barely differ from those of hydrogen.
