Title: Collaborative writing while observing the writing processes of adult writers who are having difficulty
Abstract: This study aimed to learn more about adult writers’ writing processes and write processes as writers, “as well as what they know about writing and themselves as writers. The adult authors’ writing processes were investigated by combining three approaches: peer review of their written works, structured individual interviews with both retrospective and prospective elements,” and observation of group writing projects. This systematic approach has useful tools that may be utilized to look at the writing processes and abilities to struggle adult writers. A case study provides a graphic representation of data triangulation from several sources. The case study results reveal that struggling adult authors and younger writers have certain parallels but also some major variances. Supportive roles in the writing processes used by each category are played by planning and editing. Despite the limitations on their creative processes that these struggling adult writers encounter, similar to those faced by their younger counterparts, they are distinguished from their younger counterparts by their comparatively in-depth understanding of themselves as authors.
