Description
Title: Clinical Effects of Adult B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Patients’ CD25/CD123 Coexpression
Abstract: )is research project aimed at evaluating the clinical significance of coexpression of CD25+/CD123+ in adult B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) cases. The study included 120 newly diagnosed B-ALL patients who were under 60 years old. Using flow cytometry, the expression of CD123 and CD25 on leukemic blast cells was evaluated. A coexpression of CD25+/CD123+ was found in 40/120 (or 33.3%) B-ALL patients. In comparison to B-ALL cases lacking coexpression, all patients with B-ALL who had CD25+/CD123+ coexpression had lower induction of remission response and shorter overall survival. In conclusion, CD25+/CD123+ positive coexpression is a valid flow cytometry marker for prognosis prediction in adult B-ALL patients and may be a novel parameter for risk stratification of adult B-ALL cases.
