Title: BRAND NEW GENETIC ALGORITHM BASED ON SIMILARITIES AND DISSIMILARITIES
Abstract: Finding appropriate solutions to practical problems requires optimization. Particularly, genetic (or more broadly, evolutionary) algorithms are capable of offering acceptable approximations to a wide range of problems for which precise analytical results are not available. The theoretical and experimental findings on a new genetic algorithm called Dissimilarity and Similarity of Chromosomes are presented in this paper (DSC). By examining the differences and similarities between pairs of existing chromosomes, this methodology creates new chromosomes from scratch. The algorithm is tested against the well-known GA, CMA-ES, and DE algorithms on 17 two-dimensional, 1 four-dimensional, and 2 ten-dimensional optimization problems from the literature to show how well it performs. The tests’ findings overwhelmingly demonstrate our strategy’s superiority.
