Title: An exploratory study in Muscat, Oman, on how the local population views sustainable tourism and environmental protection measures
Abstract: Sustainable tourism recognizes the significance of sustainability issues and promotes sustainable tourism practices and customs among tourists. It also supports a high level of visitor satisfaction and guarantees a memorable experience. Only with the help of the local populace is tourism likely to be successful in the long run. Previous studies confirm the importance of support from the local population for increasing the sustainability of tourism. As a result, it’s important to understand the attitudes and perceptions of the locals, which will give many tourism improvement programs a priceless resource. The goal of the current study was to understand how the community felt about the effects of tourism and the government’s environmental protection measures in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. The study suggests that the local population is aware of the advantages of tourism growth. The government needs to take action to raise public awareness of the importance of heritage site preservation. Information about how the neighborhood can profit from jobs, small businesses, etc. should also be given to them.
