Title: Atomic Concealment Caused by the Incident Beam of Projectiles Losing Coherence in Collision Processes
Abstract: In order to study collision processes, a number of presumptions are typically made. One of them is that the projectile beam has coherent lengths that are longer than the targets it strikes. Recent experimental findings and theoretical analyses, however, have demonstrated that this assumption can not only be false but also that it is possible to experimentally manipulate the coherence length to switch from a coherent to an incoherent situation. The disappearance of interference effects is the most obvious and extensively researched manifestation of such loss of coherence. In contrast, we demonstrate in the current work that an atomic concealment effect can cause a significant reduction in the magnitude of the cross section, both differentially and overall.
