Title: Applications in Chemistry, Nutrition, and Biotechnology of Anacardium Plants
Abstract: The most well-known species of the anacardium genus is the cashew tree, Anacardium occidentale L., which is native to the tropical areas of North America. These species’ fruits, leaf and shoot powder, and other parts, which have demonstrated a variety of applications, are rich sources of secondary metabolites. The habitat, cultivation, nutritional makeup, and industrial food applications of the species of Anacardium are all covered in this review. Additionally, we talk about the secondary metabolites found in Anacardium plants, which have powerful antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Because of these, using Anacardium species in the food industry is an intriguing strategy for creating healthy foods.
