Title: ACC CYFRONET CLUSTER PROMETHEUS LOFAR SOFTWARE INSTALLATION AND TESTING
Abstract: We discuss the current situation and the key problems surrounding the installation of the data reduction LOFAR software on the powerful computer Prometheus, which is housed in the ACC Cyfronet. In the context of the scientific tool and the thorough installation/testing methodology, we make reference to the software itself as well as its real-world use cases. On non-standard (cluster-type) computing systems, we address the majority of the common challenges and issues that arose during our attempts to set up the full and ready-to-use LOFAR environment (including not only programs but also libraries, scripts, and other additional tools). Following that, a thorough summary of these works is provided. We also talk about the problems with LOFAR documentation, upkeep, distribution, and future development. Finally, we suggest a few future upgrades.
