Title: A Trek on Its Natural Inhibitors and an Appealing Target for Emerging Pathogens: Filamentous Thermosensitive Mutant Z
Abstract:According to the WHO, antibiotic resistance is a significant new problem in the healthcare industry. The scientific community is paying close attention to filamentous thermosensitive mutant Z (Fts-Z) as a potential antibacterial target for combating antibiotic resistance among several pathogenic bacteria. The formation of Z rings is made possible by the Fts-Z, which is essential for bacterial cell division. Numerous in vitro and in silico experiments have shown that inhibiting Fts-Z can cause cell death by causing filamentous growth of the cells. Studies are also being done on numerous natural substances that have successfully inhibited Fts-Z. The goal of this review article was to draw attention to the structural-functional properties of Fts-Z that result in the formation of Z rings and their impact on the biochemistry and physiology of cells. Additionally covered is the recent development of natural inhibitors of the Fts-Z protein.
