Title: A Review of Soft Tissue Damage and Rupture Modeling
Abstract: The fundamental understanding of failures depends on computational modeling of pathological and supraphysiological mechanisms that cause non-connective and connective soft tissue damage and rupture. Recent improvements in models for soft tissue damage are crucial in creating synthetic tissues, medical equipment/implants, and surgical techniques. This article examines recently created damage and rupture models that took into account the microstructure of the tissues. In contrast to earlier review works, which covered damage and rupture in soft tissues separately, this work examines both types of damage and rupture. wherein the current article offers a thorough review of various models on the development of damage and tear in soft tissues with a particular on fundamental conceptual notions, benefits, drawbacks, and difficulties. In order to expand the current damage and rupture models to various soft tissues, some major problems with damage and rupture models are discussed in the article.
