Description
Title: A Survey of VLSI Structures for DNA Sequencing
Abstract: Biomedical research relies heavily on DNA sequencing, and technological advancements that enhance it have significant health implications for people. New techniques for sequencing that are more precise, high-throughput, and quick are being developed. Here, we examine VLSI biosensors for DNA sequencing and nucleotide detection. For reported design examples from the literature, implementation strategies are covered and divided into function-specific architectures. Finally, we briefly describe a novel sequencing strategy based on Gate All-Around (GAA) nanowire Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs) with important field-reaching implications.
Keywords: DNA sequencing; DNA hybridization; DNA sensor; GAA nanowire MOSFET
