Abstract: Recent advances in cell transdifferentiation and reprogramming techniques have made it possible to manipulate cell fate by adding exogenous/artificial controls. By acting as potential tools to execute cell trend differentiation, the chemical/small molecule and regulatory transcription machinery has opened up new possibilities for disease modeling and drug discovery. At this advanced stage, it is possible to think that these techniques will pave the way for the creation of sensitive and effective gene therapy and regenerative medicine techniques. As we learn more about the value of cell transdifferentiation and reprogramming, there is growing interest in how it might be used in translational therapeutics. Even though researchers and clinicians are working to scale these processes, we don’t fully understand their mechanism(s) and the opportunities they present for targeted and personalized therapeutics are limited. In this report, we made an effort to give a thorough overview of the novel ideas, approaches, and techniques used in the field of cellular transdifferentiation and reprogramming. The neuronal and cardiac systems/diseases are given particular attention with a view to scaling their utility in disease modeling and drug discovery.
