Title: Challenges and Opportunities for Sustainable Agriculture with Nano-Enabled Products
Abstract: Due to its demonstrated potential for use and implementation in a variety of fields, including medicine, catalysis, energy, materials science, and plant science, nanotechnology has grown in popularity recently. Smaller (1-100 nm) and having a larger surface area than conventional particles, nanoparticles (NPs) have a wide range of useful uses. Due to products like nano-insecticides, nano-pesticides, and nano-fertilizers that are nano-enabled, the extraordinary functions of NPs are used in sustainable agriculture. Recently, an alternative strategy for eliminating weeds, fungi, and other plant pests has been proposed using nanoparticles. Several NPs, including Ag-NPs, which are frequently used for such purposes, exhibit antimicrobial properties that are taken into account in food packaging processes. NPs like Si, Ag, Fe, Cu, Al, Zn, ZnO, TiO2, CeO2, Al2O3, and carbon nanotubes have been shown to have detrimental effects on plant growth and development in addition to their antimicrobial properties. This review looks at future prospects, expanding environmental concerns, and the practical application of nano-enabled products in sustainable agriculture. Astonishing details on products with nanotechnology built in that are used in agriculture and related industries are also provided.
