Title: Strategies for Treating Colorectal Cancer Using Bacteria-Mediated Modulators
Abstract: One of the most prevalent tumors in the world is colorectal cancer (CRC), which also frequently develops drug resistance and has a higher rate of distant metastases than other types of cancer. Scientists are therefore under pressure to continue developing novel and inventive therapeutic treatment approaches. It has been found that microorganisms, despite being connected to CRC pathogenesis, can act as highly selective CRC treatment agents. As a result, bacteriotherapy is receiving more attention from researchers as a novel therapeutic approach with fewer or no side effects when compared to conventional cancer treatment techniques. Bacteriotherapy in cancer treatment is on its way to becoming a promising tool in CRC targeting therapy thanks to numerous successful trials utilizing different bacteria-associated mechanisms. In this study, we describe the anti-cancer effects of bacterial therapy with a focus on the treatment of CRC, as well as the various modulatory mechanisms and techniques that bacteriotherapy offers, such as the use of bacterial carriers and underlying molecular processes to target colorectal tumors. Bacteriotherapy is a type of microbial therapy.
