Title: New Insights and Future Trends in Nutraceutical Nanofabrication Technology
Abstract: It was previously known that bioactive substances like polyphenolics, flavonoids, bioactive peptides, pigments, and essential fatty acids could protect against some of the deadliest diseases. Nutraceuticals are those advantageous substances with medical or health benefits that can be found in food or as a component of food. In the field of food sciences, nanoencapsulation and nanofabricated delivery systems are a promising direction. Unquestionably, the production of biocompatible active ingredients and nutraceuticals on a sustainable basis improves the food grade and supports wellness. Delivery systems based on proteins, lipids (solid and liquid), and carbohydrates are all examples of nanofabricated delivery systems. Lipid nanoparticles are a component of solid nano-delivery systems. The two types of liquid nano-delivery systems are nanoemulsions and nanoliposomes. The absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of nano delivery systems are influenced by the physicochemical characteristics of nanoparticles like size, charge, hydrophobicity, and targeting molecules. As the safety of nanofabricated delivery systems for use in food applications is unknown, further research in toxicity studies is required to ensure their security. The development of functional foods, a modern idea assuring consumers to provide programmed, expensive, and high-quality research toward nanofabricated delivery systems, could therefore greatly benefit from improved nanotechnology.
