Description
Title: Clinical Cases for Contradictory Anti-Xa
Abstract: Heparin’s activity against activated coagulation factor X is measured by the anti-Xa test; in typical clinical situations, significant anti-Xa level variability has been noted. Objective. to go over the most typical clinical situations where anti-Xa results might be biased. Evidence evaluation Guidelines and current literature search: from 2000 to October 2013, we used PubMed, Medline, Embase, and MEDION. Results. Although the anti-Xa test is frequently employed, there is limited published data evaluating the safety and efficiency of anti-Xa assays for managing UH therapy. These conditions include pregnancy, end-stage renal disease, postthrombolysis, and patients with hyperbilirubinemia. Verdicts and Relevance This is the first paper that, to our knowledge, summarizes the most frequent reasons why this test can be affected. Several “day to day” clinical scenarios can alter the results, and we concur that these rarely acknowledged scenarios can have an impact on negative clinical outcomes in routine practice.
