Description

Title: Dispersive liquid-liquid micro extraction with ultrasound assistance Spectrophotometric Analysis of Neutral Red Dye Using Deep Eutectic Solvents (DESs)

Abstract: The neutral red (NR) dye was extracted before its spectrophotometric analysis using deep eutectic solvents (DES), which have low toxicity, are inexpensive, biodegradable, and simple to synthesize. The extraction of NR dye from aqueous media was carried out using DES, which contains choline chloride as a hydrogen bond acceptor and phenol as a hydrogen bond donor with a molar ratio of 1:2. DFT calculations were used to investigate potential interactions between various DESs and NR. A UV-visible spectrophotometer was utilized experimentally for the quantitative analysis. We optimized the most critical method performance factors, including pH, extraction temperature, DES type, its volume, THF volume, sonication time, and centrifugation time. With LOD and LOQ of 2.2 and 7.3 g/L, respectively, the developed method offers exceptional sensitivity. The pre-concentration factor was 40, and the relative standard deviation ranged from 1.35 to 1.5% (n = 10). In the range of 2-300 g/L, it was discovered that the method is linear (R2 = 0.9967). The technique worked well for figuring out NR in wastewater sample. In comparison to other analytical techniques, the DES-based method offers operational simplicity, high sensitivity, and quick determination (5 min).
