Title: Developing a New Photoacoustic Soot Spectrophone for Measurements of Black Carbon at 880 nm Without Filters
Abstract: For the first time, a new photoacoustic soot spectrometer (PASS) operating at 880 nm was created for measurements of black carbon without filters (BC). Using a reference aethalometer (AE51) on incense smoke in the air, the performance of the developed PASS was assessed. With a regression coefficient of 0.99, it was determined that the two instruments had an excellent correlation for measuring incense smoke. At a time resolution of 1 s, BC measurement was successful with a 1 detection limit of 0.8 g m3. If you use a longer integration time of 1 min, it can be further decreased to 0.1 g m3.
