Description
Title: FPGA Implementation of Video Quality Assessment Procedures
Abstract: Media of all kinds are increasingly using higher video resolutions. While manufacturers work hard to perfect their screens, it’s equally crucial to guarantee the high caliber of the image that is projected. A Mean Opinion Score can be used to assess overall quality (MOS). Diverse artifacts that appear during every step of creating and transmitting a video can have an impact on its quality. In this paper, we provide a method for computing four different video quality metrics that can be used in a system for real-time video quality evaluation. Our assessment module has an 8K resolution processing speed of 30 frames per second in real time. The performance of pure software solutions is surpassed by the throughput of 2.19 GB/s. To focus on architectural optimization, a high-level language was used to create the module.
